					<description>Actually if you research ancient history you will find that what is now known as Christmas began as an ancient pagan holiday.  The Winter Solstice has been happening since the sun began rising and setting, or more accurately - since the world began turning.  

Although I do agree that the modern tradition of Christmas (at least here in America) is rife with commercial interests, more so than almost anything else celebrated this time of year.  As well as, in most recent years (again speaking about America in general), it's about shoving the importance of one religion's holiday in front of others.
