Self check-out: The freaky girl’s best friend

Filed under: Sorta Daily — Lily at 8:28 pm on Wednesday, April 5, 2006

Sometimes, I find that I’ve left random odds and ends off of my grocery list.  As a result, I sometimes find myself stopping at the store for equally random items.

Like tonight, where my basket contained the following:

  • clear mascara
  • 2 pints of ice cream (one in his favorite flavor, one in mine)
  • a big fat tube of KY jelly
  • snack bars to pack in my lunch

It was then that I realized the freedom that self-checkout lines have given all of us.  The ability to get exactly what you need, without filling a cart full of a bunch of stuff you don’t need - just to cover up the fact that you really only stopped at the store for the big, fat tube of KY.

It was an impulse purchase. I use the clear mascara to kind of “paste” my eyebrows into shape. *shrugs* I don’t know… a girlfriend once told me that’s what she does and when I saw it I thought I’d try it.

I tried it this morning and I honestly don’t see the point, either…
