Bug.
I have some kind of bug. It started last night before I went to bed. My throat is red and I’m sucking on ice chips all morning so far. Ugh. My neck is stiff. My eyes hurt. My legs are throbbing. I can’t tell if I have a fever or not, but I didn’t this morning or last night.
Ok, so here’s the thing. When you’re feeling like this - you’re not supposed to be at work, right?
But, what if you missed a couple days last week, and worked from home one day, and worked from home two and a half days the week before? And the days you did come in to work were short days, mostly because your child was ill, but you had planned to have a short week due to company in from out of town?
Also, you don’t have any PTO accrued until the end of next month when you’ll have three weeks of PTO stocked up, but you’re already going to be short a day on this next check. And you’re worried that being short the one day is already going to cause enough problems, given that you’re supposed to be saving up for the stupid move that is getting closer, so being short another day isn’t going to help much either.
Then, also - you feel like a total slacker because it seems like you can’t work a full 40 hours in any given week lately.
So, how bad are you to go in to work and keep quiet the fact that you’re possibly infecting the whole office right now? You are the hated and evil germ spreader if you come in to work, but the undependable slacker if you don’t.
What do you do then?
